LAI CHONGCHENG 赖崇铖
Born in Zhuhai, Guangdong in 1997, Lai Chongcheng received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Oil Painting Department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. He currently lives and works in Guangzhou.
Centering his practice on wood-panel oil painting, he integrates the heritage of Netherlandish Renaissance classical painting with contemporary lyrical expression. Proficient in multi-layer glazing techniques, his works feature delicate, translucent textures and restrained, subdued tones. Through symbolic motifs such as faceless figures, animals and still lifes, he constructs dimly poetic spiritual scenes imbued with literary metaphors and subtle melancholy. By reinterpreting classic myths and humanistic themes in a contemporary context, his art embodies both classical ritualistic aura and modern spirituality.

1997 年生于广东珠海，本科及硕士毕业于广州美术学院油画系，现工作生活于广州。赖创作以木板油画为核心，融合尼德兰文艺复兴古典绘画底蕴与当代抒情表达，善用多层罩染技法，画面质感细腻通透、色调克制沉静。以无脸人物、动物、静物等象征意象，构筑幽暗诗意的精神图景，暗含文学隐喻与内敛的忧郁气质，借经典神话与人文母题进行当代转译，兼具古典仪式感与当代精神性。
