The show features over 20 new artworks that continue Lai's ongoing exploration of the theme "Night." Lai often anchors his creative process in literary keywords, and for this exhibition, he uses "Letters" as an objectified metaphor to examine concepts like the other, waiting, privacy, oracles, and dreams, all set against the backdrop of historical ruins.
"Charting legible paths in daylight; settling unspoken whispers at night." In an era of waning faith and craftsmanship, Lai's reclusive lifestyle and his meticulous white glazing practices transcend stereotypes of vanguard artists and embody a quiet stance. His paintings build upon Netherlandish and Renaissance classic touches, expanding their relevance beyond functionality. Unconcerned with whether his works appear "classical," "sacred," or "awe-inspiring," the artist remains undaunted by technical challenges. His true depth arises from the anxiety and emotional resonance he experiences in the flow of creation. Paradoxically, it is within this counterintuitive astonishment and absurdity, he experiences the cycles of day and night, the glimmering stars, and the quiet growth of all things, all of which eventually find expression.
本次展览20余件作品延续了艺术家创作的“夜晚”话题，赖崇铖习惯性以文学关键词作为创作锚点，在此次展览中通过“信”这一具体的物象进一步叙述了关乎：他者、等待、私域、神谕、梦等历史废墟的话题。
“白昼绘制可阅读的通道，黑夜沉淀不可言说的呢喃。”超越大众对新锐艺术家的刻板认识，隐士般的生活方式、漫长枯燥的提白罩染，在信仰和实践双双匮乏的当下成了赖崇铖沉默的立场。他在绘画上尝试拓展了“尼德兰”和文艺复兴式古典画法在当下的非功用的必然性。他并不执着于作品是否“古典”“神圣”或“震撼”，绘画技法也不构成艺术家的困惑，真正让他感到复杂的，是创作进入心流时的焦虑与情动，而恰恰在这种反直觉的愕然和荒谬里，昼夜轮转、星灿闪烁，万物已经在悄然生长。
