黄一山：TOY STORY

O2art present Huang Yishan solo exhibition TOY STORY at 798 Art Zone in Beijing on Sep 16, 2023. The exhibition is curated by Chen Li. Toy Story, is like a paradise. Each "toy" is linked to daily life, and each "story" is a beautiful expression that can come undone. Materials and surfaces are constantly being iterated, deconstructed, and reorganized. Toy Story provides pleasure and is degraded by visual experiences and consumption, and the "stories" are repeatedly superimposed and polished, thereby revealing a macabre reality through multiple narratives.
Using iconic toys and dolls as carriers, the Toy Story series revolves around the subject matter of familiarfairy tales, fables, and fictionalized scenes of absurd or typical life by the artist. He puts conventional tastes inthe foreground, and by advancing the space and materiality of his paintings, he reconstructs a surprisingand macabre reality beneath the works' beautiful appearance.
新氧艺O2art于2023年9月16日在北京朝阳区酒仙桥路4号院798艺术区呈现黄一山个展“TOY STORY”，由策展人陈立纲策划。展览Toy Story 犹如一个乐园。每一件“玩具”都链接日常生活，每一个“故事”都是可被拆解的美丽表象。物质和平面在被不断阐释、解构和重组。“玩具”得以提供愉悦，也堕于视觉和消费经验；“故事”在被反复的叠加和磨平，由此在多重的叙事里显露出黑色现实。
Toy Story以玩具、玩偶化的形象为载体，将耳熟能详的童话、寓言，以及艺术家虚构的或荒诞或典型的生活场景作为题材，约定俗成的趣味被前置，通过在绘画的空间和物质性上的推进，重构了一个在美丽表象下令人惊诧的黑色现实。
